Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD)

The purpose of Hayesville High School's SADD Chapter is to encourage students to make positive life choices. Emphasis is placed on a lifestyle free from tobacco, alcohol, drugs and other harmful decisions that students could be pressured into making.  The focus of SADD is to stress the importance of making non-destructive decisions in all aspects of life.  The goal is accomplished in several ways.  First of all, we invite anti-drug speakers to our meetings that are held approximately every six weeks.  We also have club meetings that allow students to "have fun" by playing games, etc.  It is good for the students to realize one can have a good time without using drugs or alcohol.

SADD participate in Safe and Drug-Free Awareness Week (Red Ribbon Week) to promote community awareness of the importance of making constructive decisions.   On occasion we have seat-belt checks for the high school students to encourage seat-belt use.
